From Our Executive Director, Ivonne Moreno: An Invitation to Our Community

I have always loved research and data, especially when that data can be connected to something meaningful: helping people.
That passion is one of the reasons we have been intentional about collecting and understanding data at Hanson House Foundation. Every room night, referral, community served, length of stay, waitlist, and family experience helps us better understand a much bigger issue:
Medical Lodging & Access to Care in the Coachella Valley and Surrounding Region.
Because access to healthcare does not begin and end at the hospital doors.
For families facing cancer treatment, a baby in the NICU, a traumatic injury, or specialized medical care, access can also mean having an affordable place to stay, food available, transportation support, resources to navigate, and the ability to remain close to the care they need.
Medical lodging is not simply a room. It is part of the bridge to care.
And we do not build that bridge alone.
Our hospital, healthcare, nonprofit, and community partners help connect families to Hanson House and help us better understand where the needs and gaps exist across our region. Together with the data we continue to collect, these partnerships allow us to see not only how many people we serve, but who needs us, where they are coming from, what barriers they face, and where we can do better.
The numbers help tell the story.
Our families give those numbers meaning.
I invite our community to come tour Hanson House and see firsthand what medical lodging truly looks like, the hope, resilience, comfort, and connection that families and caregivers find here during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Come see the impact. Meet our team. Learn about the need. And discover how, together, we can continue building a stronger bridge to care for our region.
Because when data, partnerships, and compassion come together, we do more than measure impact, we create it.
Visit the Hanson House Foundation and experience first-hand the mission of Coachella Valley's, "Home Away from Home."
