Dear Friends,

As we close out 2025, I want to thank you for your continued support of the Hanson House Foundation. Because of you, families facing medical crises were able to stay close to their loved ones during some of life’s most difficult moments.

This year alone, Hanson House experienced a 24% increase in total room nights compared to the same period last year, primarily driven by longer stays for NICU, ICU, and Cancer Care families. Your generosity ensured patients could keep lifesaving appointments and families could remain nearby, offering comfort, stability, and hope when it mattered most. These heroes truly light up every room at Hanson House.

Estimated Lodging Cost Savings for Families

Based on average local hotel rates in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area, Hanson House Foundation estimates that families avoided approximately $975,000 in lodging costs in 2025. This estimate reflects more than 4,100 room nights provided at an average price of $42 per night, compared to prevailing hotel rates in the region.

With heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers

In 2025, over 6,000 volunteer hours were generously contributed to supporting Hanson House Foundation. From greeting families and assisting guests to caring for our home and managing daily operations, our volunteers are the heart of Hanson House. Their time, compassion and dedication make every stay possible, ensuring every family feels supported.

Recently, a former guest of Hanson House shared:

“Thank you so much for all the care and love Hanson House provided during our long stay. Truly, we wouldn’t be where we are today without Hanson House. Being able to stay so close to the hospital meant I could be fully present for my son during his NICU journey, and that played such a big part in his recovery. We’re forever grateful for the support, the comfort, and the peace of mind you all gave us. Thank you for helping us bring our little miracle home.”

Where Care, Comfort, and Community Come Together

In 2025, we strengthened our programs and facilities in meaningful ways. We welcomed new team members, expanded wellness workshops and art therapy programs with the support of PositiviTEE Foundation and BIGHORN BAM, and moved forward with a long-anticipated Dining Room remodel for multi-purpose use, thanks to the generosity of the Houston Family Foundation.

With support from Home Depot, we painted all guest rooms, updated bathroom fixtures, and replaced blinds throughout the casitas. Local Rotary Clubs helped us purchase new bedding and added a computer to our small business center for guest use, improving comfort, dignity, and access during extended stays. To our sponsors and supporters this past year, we are deeply grateful; we cannot continue this mission without you. We also extend our sincere thanks to Desert Oasis Healthcare for helping us kick off our first East Valley event, expanding our reach and strengthening our connection to the communities we serve.

Another highlight of the year was adding two new Board Members, Matt Taylor and Walter Clark. Since joining the Hanson House Foundation Board of Directors, they have already made a meaningful impact by offering fresh perspectives, valuable expertise, and a strong dedication to advancing our mission. We appreciate their leadership and the positive impact we are already seeing from their involvement.

As we look ahead, the need for compassionate, affordable lodging continues to grow. This winter, we invite you to consider making a meaningful year-end gift to Hanson House Foundation. Your support ensures families can remain close to their loved ones, cancer patients can continue treatment with dignity, and every guest has a safe, welcoming place to stay, creating a pathway not only to healing, but to hope and resilience.

To help close the year strong, we are currently raising funds for our Family Room Refresh, a shared space where families rest, connect, and support one another during long hospital days. Thanks to the generosity of board member Matt Taylor, every gift toward this project will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,500, helping us reach our $5,000 goal and maximize the impact of your generosity.

Thank you for being part of the Hanson House family and for making compassionate care possible in our community.

With gratitude,

Ivonne Moreno
