Bighorn BAM Grant
We are incredibly grateful to Bighorn BAM, Kelly Levy, Director of Charities and their entire board for their continued support of the Hanson House Foundation and our guests and community receiving care at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Thanks to their generous grant of $68k, we can address several critical needs:

  • Transportation Needs: The funds will support transportation for 450-500 patients, ensuring they can travel to and from their cancer treatments.

  • Lodging at Hanson House:  Patients often travel from the High-Desert, Nevada, Arizona, and Blythe regions to receive care. Those undergoing radiation treatment are required to stay in the area five days a week, typically for 5-6 weeks. Chemotherapy patients often need to return the next day for follow-up. Lodging can be scarce, especially during tourist season. The Hanson House provides the necessary accommodations to meet these patients' needs, with an anticipated 400-500 patients benefiting from this support.

  • Art and Wellness Programs: In collaboration with Desert Care Comprehensive Center our art therapy and wellness programs offer patients and healthcare providers valuable coping skills and creative outlets to manage the stress of dealing with cancer. We aim to expand these programs to support patient family members and caregivers, potentially serving 500-900 individuals.

Once again, thank you to Bighorn BAM, Kelly Levy, and the board for your unwavering support and generosity. Your contributions make a profound difference in the lives of those we serve.
